Underfloor Heating Thermostats

With FloRad underfloor heating, you can have the best of both worlds for heating control.

You can employ standard overall temperature thermostats to create perfectly controlled uniform temperatures throughout. The system creates radiant heat, resulting in even heat distribution to avoid the less manageable and energy inefficient ‘hot spots’ and ‘cooler spots’ associated with other types of central heating. Or you can have ‘zone’ thermostats individually in each room, giving you the control to individually adjust temperatures that are required.

Individual room thermostats can be supplied with an integral electronic control system situated on the manifold to allow zoning. The manifold is the device which connects the boiler and the various water pipes (which provide the warmth for the system).

Zoning allows you to control the temperature inside particular places by controlling the flow of hot water through the water pipes inside the floor, walls or ceilings. Each zone has an individual circuit, to which the thermostat is connected which in turn is connected to an electronically controlled valve on the manifold dedicated to opening or closing the flow of water to that place. This allows for optimal temperature control, for example in bedrooms overnight, or for when guest rooms are not in use. Zone control can be both remarkably energy efficient and actively reduce your running costs.
